Type Fundraiser & Car Reveal

On March 21, 2026, Ram Motorsport Racing hosted New York's first collegiate race team car reveal — a milestone evening held at Pugsley's Pizza in the Bronx. The event brought together the local car community, Fordham University students, faculty, motorsport enthusiasts, and supporters from across the city for an unforgettable night.

The evening centered on the official unveiling of RMR's Mazda MX-5 Cup race car, decked out in full livery and ready for the 2026 Collegiate Racing Series season. Team Principal Alvaro Hachuel Jr. took the floor to speak about the team's founding story, its mission to bring motorsport education to Fordham, and the road ahead for the CRS debut.

Beyond the reveal itself, the event served as a critical fundraiser for the team's 2026 campaign. Merchandise was sold, sponsors were recognized, and community members had the chance to get up close with the car — signing the door panel, meeting the team, and learning about RMR's educational programs. The atmosphere captured exactly what RMR is about: motorsport as a vehicle for education, community, and pride.

The success of the Pugsley's event laid the foundation for RMR's community presence heading into the season, with the car carrying the names of hundreds of supporters into competition.

One of the most memorable moments of RMR's car reveal at Pugsley's Pizza was the door signing — an impromptu tradition that quickly became the heart of the evening. Community members, fans, Fordham students, and supporters were invited to leave their mark directly on the race car's door panel before it heads to competition.

The signing turned the car into something more than a racing machine. It became a piece of shared history — a rolling testament to the people who believed in RMR from the beginning. Dozens of signatures now travel with the car to every event in the 2026 Collegiate Racing Series season.

The door panel has been preserved as a permanent feature of the car's livery, with signatures visible during races as a reminder of the community that built this team. RMR plans to continue this tradition at future events as the organization grows.

Engineering Bootcamp

Schedule Ongoing · 2026 Season
Location Fordham University · Bronx, NY
Duration 12 Weeks

RMR's 12-week Engineering Bootcamp is the educational cornerstone of the organization. Designed for Fordham University students with an interest in motorsport, automotive engineering, physics, and data analysis, the program provides hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of a race team operation — from the drawing board to the pit wall.

Participants work directly with the MX-5 Cup car, gaining experience in CAD and structural design, vehicle dynamics fundamentals, telemetry data analysis, trackside operations, and the logistics of running a competitive motorsport program. Sessions are led by team leadership and visiting professionals from the motorsport and engineering industries.

The bootcamp culminates in a mock race day where students apply everything they've learned — managing a simulated race weekend from grid walk to podium. Graduates of the program go on to fill key roles across RMR's Engineering, Media, and Driving departments.

The bootcamp is open to all Fordham University students regardless of prior motorsport experience. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. If you're interested in joining the next cohort, reach out through the contact page.
